What a newborn care specialist does
Newborn care is part hands-on support, part education, and part rhythm-building. The goal is not to take over your home, but to help those first weeks feel calmer and steadier.
Learn your baby, your household rhythm, and what parents most need help with.
Handle newborn care through the night with attentive, developmentally appropriate support.
Offer clear, practical recommendations around sleep, feeding, soothing, lactation, and routines.
Refine the plan as your baby changes so support remains useful and realistic.
About Sulma
I became a mom when I was 18, so I understand how hard those first weeks after birth can be.
Hi, I’m Sulma.
I was recovering, learning how to care for my baby, and trying to figure everything out without much support.
I was lucky to have my mother-in-law there to teach me. She helped me learn how to care for my daughters and gave me confidence at a time when everything felt new.
That stayed with me, and it’s a big reason why I love helping new moms now.
Experience & philosophy
I worked as a career nanny for about 12 years before focusing on newborn care. I became a trained Newborn Care Specialist and Postpartum Doula, and for the past nine years I’ve worked closely with newborns, including twins, triplets, babies with special needs, and medically fragile infants.
I love coming into a home and helping things feel calmer. Those first nights can be exhausting, and sometimes parents just need someone experienced, gentle, and trustworthy by their side.
Every baby is different, and every family is different. I don’t believe in forcing one method on everyone. I take the time to understand your baby, listen to what matters to you, and suggest a plan that feels comfortable and realistic.
